Many manufacturers and material processors unload their feedstock materials from Bulk Bags, also known as FIBCs. Unfortunately, even in today safety conscious manufacturing environment, many are discharging bulk bags unsafely by means of suspending a bulk bag over an open top hopper with a forklift or existing in-plant hoist. In this month’s Application Spotlight, we review a hybrid, ergonomic, solution for keeping operators safe for this exact type of application. It is a simple, cost-effective assembly that keeps operators free from harm during the unloading process.
By integrating our standard Bulk Bag Rest Pan with Untie chamber module with any one of our standard Surge Bins we offer end users the ability to unload supersacks of free-flowing and/or non-free-flowing materials without exposing their operators to the potential risk of a bag dropping during the process from a torn or frayed bag lifting strap. In this specific project, we also provided some additional accessories for operator access to the untie area and to inside the collection bin. Check out the video!
